Diary entry

Snowball

I think that the progress in Animalism is mixed with some positives and negatives, but in my view it is a great success. I have created the Animal Committees such as: Egg Production Committee for the hens, the Clean Tails League for the cows, the Wild Comrades Re-education Committee for rats and rabbits, and the Whiter Wool Movement for the sheep. I am disappointed that at the end they did not changed the traditions. They took advantages from the new settings at the farm – except Boxer, who was working very hard on his own decision.

The reading and writing classes have been a great success, but in different level for different group of animals. Other pigs and Benjamin can read and write perfectly. Other animals can vote but unable to propose a resolution. Some other animals can get as far as letter D, but many of the animals can’t get further than the letter A. As the result many animals can’t remember the Seven Commandments, so I declared that they could be reduced to a single slogan: “Four legs good, two legs bad”.

The flag is an interesting and creative work done by me from old green tablecloth of Mrs. Jones. I have painted on it hoof and horn. Green color represents green fields of England and the hoof and horn in white color should be the signs of the future Republic of Animals that would be created when the human race would be defeated.

The organization of the work, which I am the major part of making it, is a success and it goes like clockwork. Everyone works according to his capacity. Also Boxer wakes up earlier to work more. Cat is different and has been always missing when her work should be done. Animals don’t work on Sundays and have a breakfast one hour later. They enjoy their food, because it is produced by them.

In the battle of Cowshed I was the principal of the protection operations and I have made a great job. I expected the attack from our enemies – Mr. Jones and his men, so I have prepared my Animal Army to fight for our freedom and our great Animal Farm. Mr. Jones hurt me with his rifle but I continued to fight for the farm. But I didn’t see Napoleon in the battle.

I think that our battle was a great victory. And now I understand that animals are smarter and stronger that the people. I saw many brave animals that fulfilled my instructions. Pigeons and geese did first attack very well. Second attack by Benjamin, Muriel and sheep headed by me was perfect. We have left on purpose to get men inside the yard. Then based on my instructions 3 horses and 3 cows and the rest of my brothers pigs cut men off. I know that one our sheep was shot to death and we have given her honor “Animal Hero, Second Class”.
Boxer made a great job, but he kicked a boy very hard. I told him: “War is war. The only good human being is a dead one”. But I am dissatisfied with Molly who was hiding in her stall.

20 August

20 August: – I am very concerned about Lucy and especially her behavior. She is acting very strange. From the 17th to 18th of August I called many times to doctor and told them about symptoms of Lucy. When they heard her symptoms they immediately said me that they had so many work and patients. And all doctors answered me like that. The last time with us was something mystical, especially with Lucy. She talks herself in strange language and when I ask her what is he tilling she says that she was silent. I still do not understand what happens to her.
Yesterday evening as always I was walking along the cliffs to the westward, and when coming home, it was then bright moonlight. I knew that something happened to Lucy and looked at her window. She stuck her head through the window and began to make strange noises. Sound was like the roar of wolves. Then I immediately ran to the house. When I was running under her window, I saw drops of blood on the ground. I scared more when I saw blood. Then I ran faster. I went home and immediately rushed into her room. Lucy was lying on her bed. Her eyes were closed.  She pretended that she was asleep. I tried to ask her about her scaring and she said me that she was reading a book and when she finished reading, she lied down to have a rest. Of course I did not believe her. Then I closed her window and ask her to not open a window. I was very tired so went to my room to sleep.
Today in the morning I asked her what have happened yesterday evening and she replied that she did not remember anything. I started to afraid her more and more.
I cannot leave her like that. I called to the doctor who was recommended by my friend. I told him about all her symptoms then he though a little bit and said that he will come tomorrow. Today I will be very careful will Lucy. I am going to keep the key of our doors and close all windows by dark materials.
Now we are going to have a dinner, but Lucy does not want to eat. I will try to get her to eat because it very important to her. Today I will not go for a walk. I will sit with her at home.
I think doctor will come tomorrow. Lucy needs help from a doctor.

MY FIRST NIGHT LOST ON THE JUNGLE

MY FIRST NIGHT LOST ON THE JUNGLE
It was around 8 p.m. and it was getting dark. Our helicopter was flying over the strange jungle. My colleagues and I had an expedition in the jungles of North America. We were flying around 3-4 hours. My colleague Josh and I were thinking about our expedition. Suddenly helicopter started shaking and turned on the red bulb. All expeditors woke up at once. I felt that helicopter began declining. We all were shocked and hoped that everything would be ok. Then there was a scary sound and our helicopter felt down. I woke up in 2-3 minutes. There were a lot of debris and blood around me. I thought that I was the only one alive. I saw a burning helicopter and in two minutes it exploded. I had some hurts on my legs and on my left hand. I looked around and everywhere was trees. It was a jungle. There were a lot of trees and lianas on the trees. It was very dark because it was around 8.30 p.m. and trees closed the sky. At first I put hand into my pocket and picked my iPhone up. Unfortunately there was no connection to use a GPS navigator. When I was thinking about what to do I heard rustling in bushes. Insects and beetles crawled under me. On the right of me I heard gurgling water. I wanted to drink, so I went to the river. On the way I heard different noises of animals. Fortunately I saw a hollow of a rabbit. I took a rock and throw it into the harrow. Then I looked into the harrow and saw a rabbit what was killed by the rock. It was getting cold and I was very tired and I started thinking about lodging for the bad. In the jungle were some palms, so I tore some palm branches. Then I collected some branches and lianas. From them I did a hammock and from excess dry branches I did a fire and cooked the rabbit. Rabbit was very yummy. After a tasty dinner l went to bed. In the night I heard noises of insects and I felt how a cockroach was crawling on me. In the morning I woke up very early to start looking for people. Then I took some food and water and went to search. I walked around 10-15 miles and saw a hunter who was hunting on wild boar. Fortunately he spoke English and l told him about the accident. Then we went to his house and he called rescuers.
